Medication
If you become ill, it is wise to register with the Clinic before 11 am for the fees of 2000 cedis less than 50 cent paid by our Organization escort staff thereafter it will become incredibly busy and the fee may increase. After 2pm its emergencies only. There is a competent team of International Volunteer Doctors as well as Resident Nurses. Waiting time can vary but you should not wait for more than two hours. Be aware that there is no queuing system (as is a practiced rule for the whole of west Africa) so it is best to say hi! And ask who is in front of you. Prescription drugs are at the counter in the Clinic. Other medicines are available from the camp. These stores stock many medicines and the staffs are competent should you need any advice. Prices are very reasonable by Western standards. In case of emergency, our team will make sure you are sent to other international clinics in Accra.
Libraries & Resource Centers
The leading center on the Camp is the Korleh Community Library There are other little centers on the settlement manage CBO and other individual. We also have an Mini Library & IT Room but lack books and other learning equipment. Most these books are donated by either a Volunteering group or individual. Networking We are a member of "ONE SOCIETY" a coalition of 25 local CBOs in Buduburam. IVs will explore and support most of these groups. Most will bring proposal and other ideas. Learn to refer them to us in a meeting in order to handle issues professionally
Phone
If you have already spent sometime in Ghana, you are probably already familiar with the Unit transfer system topping up. If not, there are plenty of stands advertising unit transfer on either an "A Frame or Flag sign" .Just give them your number and you will receive a confirmation text almost immediately. For better value for money, scratch cards are also sometimes available. International calls are very reasonable. Internet There are two reasonably sized cafes on the main road. Both are incredibly temperamental, the green one being the more reliable of the two. Still, it can take a whole hour just to read a few emails as band width is poor. Uploading photos takes an eternity so if you must, you should always downsize. Most case including the two main ones have a problem with viruses so be careful with your Pen Drive or Laptop and sensitive files and please remember no internet Banking. Browsing prices are pretty reasonable.
